ATM Machines in Japan

What is important to remember is that Japan is still very much a cash country. Many places like small shops and restaurants as well as ryokans in the countryside will only take cash. Therefor it is very important in this safe country to carry more cash then you might be used to. Not all ATM that you see serves you using an international card. The best place to go is to the post office during office hours and the 7 Eleven stores that are open around the clock. There is no problem to get change on large bills at any place!

Karaoke at Shidax

Of course there is no problem to find a place to sing Karaoke in Japan, but there are many places and of different standards. One of the best chains to go to is Shidax. You find them all over Japan. This one is in Shibuya and is a bit more used to foreign guests. Here you rent a room for 2 to 30 guest per hour. You then order food and drinks if you want and just start the party. There are of course English songs as well. The most difficult thing can be to learn how the Japanese remote control works. Have fun and sing out loud! Open 24/7

Bagelstein - Great bagels in the country of Baguettes!

The popularity of american things in France always amazes me. They take it all in and then they refine it, makes regular size portions and ad some French touch to it.
The bagels are getting hugely popular in Paris and now they have opened the great store Bagelstein on my street as well. They can be found in many locations in Paris but this one is on 15 Rue de a Roquette next to Bastille.

Copy Shopping in Shanghai

If you are into shopping copy products in Shanghai this is one of the places to do it. It is located at 580 Nanjing West Road. This place is right down town so you don't have to head out to the Pudong side of the city.
Here you have 3 floors of fake bags, pashminas, Calvin Klein underwear, Apple products etc. Just remember that EVERYTHING is fake and you should pay in consideration with that. Prices should go down to 15-20% of the starting prices at least! If they say that your price is to low then just walk away and if they will not sell it they the price was to low. If not then they won!
Have fun!

Mona Lisa at the Louvre

2012 about 10.000.000 people visited the Louvre Museum in Paris. 40% only visited it to see Mona Lisa. Waited in line and then left! What a pity! Here you have one of the biggest collection of classical art and you only see one painting!! Yes The Louvre is overwhelming and you can not see everything. Visit the webpage before you go and chose one or two sections that you would like to see, like the Greek or Egyptian part. Or maybe Flemish painting from the 17th century only and you will actually have a great time. Take some time and have a java at some of the cafés for some new energy!
